joey and i had an amazing time in nashville at the national youth worker's conference. we needed some alone time. it was a great time to refocus our vision for the youth ministry God has entrusted us with. we met up and ate dinner with a high school friend and his wife; met up with our friends from hope's call - eddie and jessica; we also ate with friends from right here at home that were at the conf. -- tim and christi. what fun to catch up with great friends. the conference was good. there were a couple of "fruit loop" speakers, but for the most part, we took away some awesome things. the music was fabulous (mercy me, shane and shane, david crowder band - just to name a few). i love getting away and thinking of how the Lord has richly blessed student ministry. we had the opportunity to tour the opryland hotel and festivities. that was probably one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. i forgot to mention we had some delicious food.... i posted some pics...for those who are wondering, joey has a toothpick in his mouth--we shopped the western stores down town--interesting to say the least; i kissed elvis--he's alive....haha!!
