MaGiCaL...
As Joey and I started our life together almost 15yrs ago, it has been all I ever dreamed & MORE! Yes, so much more! God has done a mighty work in our family through people we have ministered beside, students, family, friends, life experiences (good, bad, & ugly). The most adventurous chapter has been the last 2-3yrs of our church planting journey. We really had no clue what we were saying yes to. However, God called & we obeyed. For the most part, I'm a pretty optimistic person! Always making the best of a situation OR trying to find the good. There have been days finding the good was hard, but it was ALWAYS there. Our family has been blessed by God through others in so many ways the past 3yrs. Whether financially, serving, or praying, people have been very supportive. This past week we were able to enjoy just our family getting away on a week long vacation. I have dreamed about a week away for a long time. We were able to spend a magical week at Disney World. Yes, we prayed, planned, saved, & wished for 3yrs. God granted all we desired & more! HE blew our minds. HE loves us & wanted to give us this trip. HE reminded me while away that not just WDW is magical, but everyday life is magical. WHY? Because He is in the business of restoring lives supernaturally. HE does magic no man can do. Studying the life of Walt Disney himself helped me realize this life's calling is beyond myself but is so possible. I was also reminded as a wife & a mother, I don't need to get away to have a magical week. God gives me moments every single day to make magical. I have the blessing of making my marriage to Joey magical. The little daily acts make huge impacts. I don't want an average or even a good marriage. I want a great, magical one. It's all in my perspective. God designed my marriage to be just that. I will not settle for less. I will fight against culture & status quo. I have the blessing of making daily magical memories with our boys. Routines that are not overloaded. Dinners that are made special. Our home made the best possible (even if it doesn't belong to us....I have not lived in our own home for 3yrs so I kinda forgot :))) lol). But, a home is where you make it. It has NOTHING to do with the shell. Even our family's calling is magical. It's a pure pleasure to live out with our boys what an adventure following Jesus is! It's not easy, it's hard, but it's also awesome, amazing, fun, crazy wild, and yes, MAGICAL! I'm thankful & greatful for the blessing of time away as a family. I'm also thankful that we were able to have a magical experience at Disney. I'm most thankful that the magic doesn't have to stop......it is a daily experience.....if I allow it. Perspective. Magical.
